Interview with Mirko Reichlin

Hi Mirko. Could you introduce yourself? What were you doing before you joined Constructor Academy's Full-Stack Development Bootcamp?

"Hi, I’m Mirko, I’m 34 years old and I work at Ergon Informatik AG as a Full-Stack Developer. I am passionate about UX Design and front-end development. Before I started the Bootcamp at SIT Academy (former Propulsion Academy), I studied Finance at the University of Zurich and worked as a Corporate Finance Consultant for about five years."

Why did you choose the Coding Bootcamp at Constructor Academy?

"There are many components that led to my final decision. First, I talked to a lot of former students and they all recommended Constructor Academy to me. The second convincing argument was that I was able to study in Zurich, where I live. Lastly, I only heard good things about how the program is designed and how the curriculum benefits people who want to change their careers."

Could you share some insights about your capstone projects, on which you worked on the last three weeks of the Bootcamp?

"I worked on a project called Munchbox. It was a lunch subscription service in the form of an app. James and Pedro, friends who I met in the program, were in my team and we decided to do our own project out of an idea we had. We wanted to do something which was consumer-facing and I wanted to bring my passion for design to it. The result was a progressive web app, where restaurants and customers could log in and make use of Munchbox. It was a lot of fun and we were really happy with the outcome. How was life after completing the Bootcamp?

"If you work really hard and use the network of Constructor Academy or yourself I'm sure you can find a suiting position. I had a friend working at Ergon and she helped me get an internship there. If you are really passionate about programming, I can really recommend doing the Full-Stack Development Bootcamp."

Thanks a lot, Mirko. In the name of Constructor Academy, we wish you all the best.
